In several comments, Ryan certainly didn't volunteer/endorse Romney's plan to increase the US military to intimidate everyone. He did argue with Biden about Defense spending cuts, however Biden pointed out the need for Afghanistan to step up to the plate by 2014 and that 49 US allies are for this plan. We have been training thousands of Afghans to handle their own country in the future.
It surprises me that Ryan wasn't more specific on the Romney plan to quadruple the US military so that no one will attempt to go against us because we will be so intimidating. This sounds good, however we have had an invincible army spending billions of dollars and problems still exist. Israel is constantly dealing with national security issues and is in a more precarious state than ever. Starting a war in Syria or Iran, isn't necessarily going to solve Israel's problem, as the entire region has problems with the US and Israel.
