It took FDR nearly four complete presidential terms and the Great War to turn around the country after the Great Depression. Why is Romney obsessed with small federal government, at a time when the middle classs has been declining for 30 years, half of Americans have income of less than the median wage of $50,000, which is barely enough for a couple to afford proper care of children, California is broke, many other states and communities are broke, we need more teachers and police, and our infrastructure has to be adddressed asap? I would welcome smaller government and a do something Congress if states were economically sound but they are struggling. Romney's plan is a script for somewhere else besides America. During the New Deal, there was also economic patriotism by the wealthy and corporate loyalty to employees.
Romney's small federal government plan is an out of touch mantra that fails to acknowledge the needs of the majority of the American people. He can't relate to the majority of Americans because he has no policies that will help the majority of Americans. His role of the government comment during the debate was pathetic and patronizing to Obama, who is a Constitutional scholar.
I believe that Romney would be more effective and comfortable, holding an elected position in CHINA!
